Attention Meredith College Applicants!
Two important dates are quickly approaching:
1. Honors Program, Teaching Fellows Program, Paschal Scholars (science and computer science) and talent scholarship application deadline is January, 15 2016. Applicants must be admitted to the College and submit their applicable scholars’ application by January 15.
2. Our final open house for high school seniors (Think Meredith) is Monday, January 25. Registration is open!
The UNCG Teacher Education Fellows Program awards a $20,000.00 scholarship distributed incrementally over four years of study at UNCG. In addition to scholarships, the UNCG Teacher Education Fellows Program includes a variety of other benefits, including integrated seminars, networking events, community engagement opportunities, and leadership development. Fellows also live in relative proximity to one another as part of the Residential Colleges or Lloyd International Honors College. Additionally, Fellows study abroad during their sophomore year as part of the global focus of the program.
To be eligible for participation in the UNCG Teacher Education Fellows Program, a student must be a North Carolina resident and should have at least a 3.80 weighted cumulative high school GPA and a minimum SAT score of 1100 (verbal and math) or ACT composite score of 24. Students must also select one of the UNCG majors that lead to N.C. teaching licensure:
Attention Seniors - next week is NC College Application Week and a number of public and private colleges and universities in NC have waived their application fee from November 2nd-6th if you apply to their school via the cfnc.org website. You can find a list of the participating schools in Student Services. Counselors will be in the 1027 Computer Lab next to the Media Center to assist you in applying to any school during SMART Lunch and after school Monday--Thursday this week. Please stop by at those times to get help and ask us any questions about this great event!
Attention students who would like to log some volunteer hours: The Carolina Creative Center, or C3, is a thrift and consignment shop inside Cary Towne Center. They need volunteers at this time. Stop by, or check out their Facebook page for more information.
APP STATE DIVERSITY DAY
The Office of Admissions would like to inform you about the second year of our Explore Appalachian Diversity Day. This free one-day event will include lunch and be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Attention students with Native American or First Nations background: The Triangle Native American Society and the Wake County Indian Education Program have resources to assist you in high school and beyond. Please see Student Services for information.
Time to sign up for ASVAB results! If you took the ASVAB a few weeks ago please sign up to receive test results and Interpretation. An Education Service Specialist from the US Military will be on campus on October 28th and October 29th during SMART lunch B to give ASVAB results and interpretations. Sign Up is necessary. Please complete the sign-up on the CHS website by going to "Student," and selecting from the Student Drop Down "Career Development." There will be a sign up for ASVAB test interpretation on the left side.
